Summary:
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for performing all duties of a housekeeper, in addition to, but not limited to, supervising and assisting housekeeping staff, training new employees, manage daily activities, check public areas to be clean and orderly and communicate with other departments appropriately.
He/she will maintain and promote excellence in hospitality and customer service at all times; foster team spirit and achieve goal of guest satisfaction.
Must be flexible with working early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Tasks &
Responsibilities:
Will work shifts as assigned Prepare daily work schedule and assign daily tasks Check public areas to be clean and orderly Clean and tidy rooms Schedule and train all new housekeeping staff members Answer questions and provide assistance to housekeeping staff as necessary Report maintenance issues and log lost and found property Investigate complaints regarding cleanliness and/or functionality of things in rooms and public areas Monitor supplies in both hotel rooms and public areas and complete monthly inventory and order supplies Conduct room inspections and inspection of public areas Qualification:
1-2 years housekeeping experience required 1-2 years managing a team Positive, customer is always right attitude Strong, concise communication skills Hospitality and Tourism degree preferred Professional in appearance and demeanor Ability to work varied hours including weekend and holidays Basic knowledge of computers a plus Basic typing skills Solid decision making skills Skills:
Soft Skills:
Good verbal and written communication skills, time management skills, organization skills, can-do attitude, sense of urgency and strong work ethic.
